White Bean Chili Recipe
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 3 (16 ounce) cans great Northern beans
- 5 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups shredded cooked chicken
- 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- Heat oil in a 5-quart stockpot over medium heat; cook and stir onion and garlic until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Stir great Northern beans, chicken broth, chicken, green chile peppers, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, and cloves into the stockpot. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer until flavors combine, about 1 hour.
