Vegan Cheese Sauce Recipe

  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 pinch ground cumin, or to taste
  • 1 cup water, or more as needed
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups salsa
  1. Combine nutritional yeast, flour, paprika, salt, garlic powder, and cumin in a saucepan; add water. Whisk constantly over medium heat until thick and bubbly, about 5 minutes; remove from heat.
  2. Stir margarine into the yeast mixture until melted. Mix in salsa.
  3. Cook and stir over low heat until tomatoes are warmed through, about 5 minutes.
