Steak Salad with Horseradish Dressing Recipe

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Lucerne Sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup Safeway SELECT Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Safeway SELECT Primo Taglio Imported Danish Blue Cheese
  • 1 (10 ounce) package bite-size pieces romaine lettuce leaves, rinsed and crisped
  • 1 large tomato, cut into wedges
  • 1 (6.5 ounce) jar marinated artichoke hearts, quartered and drained well
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel
  1. Place steak on a lightly oiled rack in a broiler pan; sprinkle with salt. Broil about 6 inches below heat, turning once, until well browned on both sides and done to your liking; cut in thickest part to test (10 to 14 minutes for medium-rare).
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together sour cream, mayonnaise, horseradish, lemon juice, and pepper. Stir in cheese. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, toss together lettuce, tomato, artichokes, and onion; divide among 4 to 6 individual plates.
  4. Cut steak across the grain into thin, slanting slices. Arrange steak over salads. Drizzle salads with dressing and garnish with lemon peel.
