Squid in Olive Oil and Paprika Recipe

  • 1 lb (450g) cleaned squid
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp hot paprika
  • Salt
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges, for serving
  1. Slice the squid “tube” into ¼ in (1cm) rings and cut each tentacle in half.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Raise the heat to high and add the squid. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes until the squid looks opaque and is hot.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice and paprika, and season with salt.
  4. Serve immediately, with lemon wedges for squeezing.
