- oil for deep frying
- 2 sheets filo pastry
- 1 apple, peeled and sliced
- 50g/1oz raisins
- 50g/1oz pistachios
- 1 orange, zest only
- pinch cinnamon
- butter for greasing
- Heat the oil in a large pan for deep frying. (CAUTION: Hot oil can be very dangerous. Do not leave unattended.)
- Cut the pastry sheets into four lengthways.
- Mix the apple, raisins, pistachios, orange zest and cinnamon. Place a small amount into the corner of the pastry and fold into triangles.
- Seal with butter and repeat with the rest of the pastry and filling.
- Deep fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden. Serve.
