Sake Shrimp Skewers with Citrus-Sake Dipping Sauce Recipe

  • 1 pound peeled and deveined large raw shrimp (21/30 size)
  • 6 tablespoons Holland House® Sake Cooking Wine
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated or minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  1. Combine shrimp, 2 tablespoons sake cooking wine and sesame oil in a bowl. Let stand 20 minutes. Preheat grill. Thread 5-6 shrimp on each skewer (reserve marinade). Grill shrimp about 2 minutes per side, turning with a spatula to release from grill.
  2. Stir reserved marinade, remaining 4 tablespoons cooking wine, juice, soy sauce, ginger and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Simmer 1- 2 minutes until slightly thickened. Add sesame seeds and cilantro. Serve with shrimp.
