Purple sprouting broccoli with anchovy Recipe

  • 450g/16oz purple sprouting broccoli
  • 5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 whole garlic cloves
  • pinch dried chilli flakes
  • 6 anchovy fillets, chopped
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ lemon, juice only
  • toasted ciabatta, to serve
  1. Steam the broccoli for 5-6 minutes or until tender.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a frying pan and add the garlic cloves. Fry the garlic until golden. Carefully remove the garlic and discard.
  3. Add the chilli flakes and anchovies to the oil and cook until the anchovies break down. Season and add the lemon juice.
  4. Serve the steamed broccoli with the dressing drizzled over, and a slice of toasted ciabatta each.
