Ortega® Beef Burrito Recipe

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1 (1.5 ounce) package ORTEGA® Burrito Seasoning Mix
  • 8 (6 inch) flour tortillas
  • Additional ingredient suggestions: SARGENTO® ChefStyle Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese, shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes
  1. BROWN beef; drain. Stir in water and seasoning mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until mixture thickens.
  2. SPREAD 1/2 cup beef mixture on each tortilla. Top with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes; fold into burritos.
  3. Additional Serving Suggestions: Serve beef mixture inside ORTEGA(R) Taco Shells or over ORTEGA(R) Tostada Shells; top as desired. Or, spoon over tortilla chips, sprinkle with shredded cheese and heat in microwave until cheese is melted. Top with sliced ripe olives, guacamole and ORTEGA(R) Thick & Chunky Salsa.
