- 2 (750 milliliter) bottles dry red wine
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 3 (3 inch) cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
- 2 oranges, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced crosswise
- 1 (2 inch) piece ginger
- In a 4-quart pan over medium heat, combine wine, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange, and ginger. Stir occasionally until wine is steaming, 15 to 20 minutes. Ladle into mugs and serve.
