Low-Fat-Count Monte Cristo Recipe

  • 1/4 cup egg substitute
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 slice turkey
  • 1 slice ham
  • 1 slice Swiss cheese
  • 2 slices bread
  • Cooking spray
  • Jam or preserves
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Mix egg substitute, milk, and pepper in a shallow dish. Place the turkey, ham, and cheese between the bread slices. Dip both sides of the sandwich into the egg-substitute mixture. Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and put the sandwich in it over medium heat. Cook for 3 minutes on each side or until golden.
  2. If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with strawberry jam.
