Kelloggs® Rice Krispies Treats® Holiday Lights Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 1 (10 ounce) package marshmallows
  • 6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal
  • Food coloring
  • String licorice
  • Prepared frosting
  • Small round candies
  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt margarine and marshmallows on HIGH for 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Stir mixture until smooth. Divide marshmallow mixture into four or five portions. Add a few drops of food coloring to each marshmallow portion. Stir until well blended.
  2. Divide Kellogg's(R) Rice Krispies(R) cereal into four or five portions and add to the colored marshmallow mixtures, stirring until well coated. Let cereal mixture slightly cool. With buttered hands, shape cereal mixture into cereal holiday lights and plug. Place on waxed paper.
  3. Shape licorice into circle to form holiday lights wire. Attach cereal lights and plug to licorice with frosting. Decorate as desired.
