- 1/4 cup dried currants
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup Marsala
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
- Vanilla ice cream
- Amaretti or other cookies, crumbled
- Combine first 6 ingredients in heavy small saucepan. Boil until syrupy, stirring frequently, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly. Discard cinnamon.
- Scoop ice cream into bowls. Spoon warm currant mixture over ice cream. Sprinkle with cookies and serve.
