Homemade Coffee Liqueur Recipe

  • 2 cups water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup instant coffee granules
  • 2 cups vodka
  • 1 or 2 vanilla beans, split lengthwise
  1. Bring 2 cups water to boil in heavy medium saucepan. Add sugar and coffee. Reduce heat to very low. Stir just until sugar and coffee dissolve. Remove from heat. Let stand until cool, about 1 hour.
  2. Mix vodka into coffee syrup. Pour into large jar. Scrape in seeds from vanilla bean halves. Add bean halves to jar. Stir to blend. Cover; let stand at room temperature at least 3 weeks and up to 6 weeks. Discard vanilla bean halves before serving.
