Homemade Chocolate Syrup Recipe

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking cocoa
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  1. In a 1-qt. microwave-safe dish, combine the sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and water until smooth. Cover and microwave on high for 4 minutes or until the mixture boils, stirring twice. Stir in butter and vanilla until blended. Serve warm over ice cream.
