- 1 pound ditalini pasta
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 pound sweet turkey sausage, cut across into ¼-inch-thick slices
- One 15-ounce can tomato sauce
- One 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
- ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, broth, and oregano and bring to a simmer. Partially cover the pan and simmer until the sausage is cooked through, about 5 minutes. Add the pasta and stir to combine.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the basil. Sprinkle with the Parmesan just before serving.
