- 25g/1oz butter, melted
- 2 plain ready-made croissants, split open lengthways
- 25g/1oz butter
- 1 tbsp soft brown sugar
- 1 apple, cored, chopped
- ½ orange, juice only
- 1 tbsp sultanas
- 75ml/2½fl oz double cream
- ready-made vanilla ice cream, to serve, if desired
- For the croissants, melt the butter in a frying pan, then place the croissants into the pan to fry for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden-brown.
- For the butterscotch apples, place the butter and sugar into a small frying pan to melt over a medium heat.
- Add the chopped apple and the orange juice to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes, then add the sultanas and cook for another minute. Finally add the cream to the pan, cover with a lid and simmer for 5-6 minutes.
- To serve, place the croissants onto a plate along with the butterscotch apples and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
