Creamed Ham on Corn Bread Recipe

  • 1 (8.5 ounce) package corn bread/muffin mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • CREAMED HAM:
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
  1. In a bowl, combine corn bread mix, egg and milk until blended. Spread into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees F for 18-20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour, mustard and salt until smooth. Add milk. Bring to a boil; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in cheese until melted. Add ham and heat through. Cut corn bread into squares; top with creamed ham.
