- 1 apple, cut in half and core removed
- 50g/1žoz cheddar, cut into 2 chunks
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 25g/1oz finely chopped apple
- 50ml/2fl oz double cream
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
- Heat an ovenproof griddle pan until smoking. Add the apple, flesh-side down, and chargrill for two minutes.
- Turn the apples over and place a piece of the cheese into the hollowed core of each apple half.
- Sprinkle the sugar evenly over each apple half and transfer to the oven to bake for ten minutes, or until golden.
- To serve, place the apples into the centre of a warm plate, sprinkle over the finely chopped apple and drizzle with the cream.
