Caramelised bananas Recipe

  • 55g/2oz caster sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence
  • 1-2 tbsp hot water
  • 2 bananas, peeled and sliced
  • knob of butter
  • double cream
  1. Heat the sugar, vanilla essence and water in a pan, until it forms a caramel.
  2. Add the banana slices to the pan, shaking to coat.
  3. Add the butter to the pan and heat for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Transfer the caramelised bananas to a serving plate, and drizzle with cream to serve.
