Cajun Seasoned Catfish Recipe

  • 4 (4 ounce) fillets farm-raised catfish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Nature's Cajun Seasoning
  • 2/3 cup finely ground pecans or dried bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
  • Nature's Cajun Seasoning Recipe:
  • 5 tablespoons paprika
  • 3 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 4 teaspoons Morton® Nature's Seasons® Seasoning Blend
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons white pepper
  • 2 teaspoons ground red pepper
  1. Brush both sides of fillets with lemon juice. Sprinkle each fillet with about 1 teaspoon Nature's Cajun Seasoning (recipe above). Cover and refrigerate at least one hour.
  2. Combine pecans (or bread crumbs) and 2 tablespoons Nature's Cajun Seasoning. Drizzle fish with butter or margarine, dip in pecans to coat completely. Place fish on shallow pan coated with cooking spray. Follow broiler or oven method.
  3. Broil 10 – 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork or bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Nature's Cajun Seasoning: Combine all ingredients in a zip-top plastic bag; seal bag and shake well.
  5. Store tightly sealed; shake well before each use. Use as a coating mix for fish, poultry or pork.
