Burrito-Style Burgers Recipe

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped green onions, divided
  • 1 cup prepared mild or medium salsa, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon Morton® Coarse Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin, divided
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans with chopped green chilies, warmed
  • 4 (8 inch) flour tortillas, warmed
  • Salsa
  • Shredded lettuce (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (optional)
  1. In medium bowl combine ground beef with 3 tablespoons green onions, three (3) tablespoons salsa, Morton(R) Kosher Salt and 1/4 teaspoon cumin. Shape mixture into 4 oval-patties. In small bowl, combine remaining salsa with remaining 1/4 teaspoon cumin; set aside.
  2. Set oven control to broil and/or 550 degrees F. Broil patties with tops 3 inches from heat until well done, internal temperature 160 degrees F. Place hamburgers on warm tortillas, with refried beans, additional salsa, remaining green onions, lettuce and cilantro. Fold to wrap and enclose hamburger; cut in half. Serve with salsa and sour cream, if desired.
