Amaretti tiramisu Recipe

  • 200ml/7fl oz strong black coffee
  • ½ brandy miniature
  • 6 amaretti biscuits
  • 150ml/5fl oz double cream, whipped
  • 50g/1¾oz chocolate, grated
  • 50g/1¾oz tinned cherries, drained, stones removed
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder, for dusting
  • 250ml/9fl oz milk
  • 75g/2¾oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar
  • ½ orange, peeled, sliced
  1. Place the coffee and brandy into a bowl and mix together.
  2. Dip the biscuits into the mixture, then place half of them into the base of a dessert glass.
  3. Place the whipped cream into a bowl with the grated chocolate and cherries and stir to mix.
  4. Spoon half of the cream mixture onto the biscuits, then repeat to make a second layer of biscuits followed by a final layer of cream. Dust with cocoa powder.
  5. For the chocolate sauce, heat the milk in a saucepan, add the chocolate and simmer gently until the chocolate has melted. Stir in the icing sugar.
  6. To serve, pour some of the chocolate sauce over the tiramisu and top with the orange slices.
